This article is about a young man named Andrew Skurka. He is a confident hiker who is always ready for a good challenge. Andrew decided to go hiking up the Appalachian trials in Alaska. He thought he planned well for his journey, but he had no idea of the distance and altitude of his hike. He started off strong, but as he pushed on he started to feel in pain. In his first day he managed to hike 12 miles before it got dark. Normally Andrew would be able to hike 33 miles before having to stop because of darkness. That tells you how intense this hike was compared to the ones he was used to.
The next day as he was hiking, he started to feel different, in a way that he had never felt before. He was feeling worse every mile that went by. Suddenly he burst into tears. He couldn’t take the stress and pain he was feeling because of all the hiking and the high altitude he was walking in. His previous hikes were not nearly as challenging as this one. However, over time he started to get a better vibe, and he gained back all his confidence. At one point, he was extremely stressed out, and couldn’t handle the hike and the way things were going. Looking back at his experience, he said he would rather do that again than stay in an office all day and do nothing.
I really liked this article. I found it interesting, it was inspiring. I would rate this article high; it was interesting and motivating to know that some people push themselves to do their best! This article is good; the topic is something that interests me. I would highly recommend this article to anyone who is interested in hiking in remote places like Alaska.
